HALALAN 2010 TALLY OF VOTES HAS BEGAN
COMELEC or the Commission On Elections said it will release around 7 p.m. Manila, Philippines time the URL (uniform resource locator) of its website, which will contain partial tally or electronic counts that will be sent by PCOS or Precinct Count Optical Scan machines.
Larrazabal, one of the Comelec Commissioners said that the first “official results, but unofficial tallies” will consist of 20% of the total votes cast from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m..
The succeeding results that will be fed into the URL (uniform resource locator) of its website will come in 10% batches “so everybody will be updated.”
Larrazabal said the national board of canvassers will suspend proceedings by 7 p.m. and reconvene at 10 a.m. Tuesday May 12, 2010.
He assured that updates on the transmission of electronic votes will be non-stop from 7 p.m. Monday until all votes are counted. He added that the votes that will be seen on the website are electronically sent by each PCOS machines, which is why the Comelec calls them “unofficial tallies.”

Based on the COMELEC partial tally, Noynoy Aquino’s closest rival for the presidency is former President Erap Estrada with 8,425,937 votes. He was followed by Manny Villar Jr. with 4,739,299 votes.
Trailing Jejomar Binay in the partial tally was Mar Roxas, with 12,072,372 votes. Mar Roxas was followed by Loren Legarda with 3,607,797 votes.
